Ingredients
- 1 lb (450 g) potato gnocchi
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 8 fresh sage leaves
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice
- Optional: chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the gnocchi in boiling salted water until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat until it begins to foam and turn golden.
- Add the sage leaves to the butter and cook for about 1 minute until they become crispy and release their aroma.
- Gently add the cooked gnocchi to the skillet, tossing to coat them evenly with the sage-infused butter.
- Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the gnocchi to toast slightly and absorb the flavors.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. For an extra zing, add a squeeze of lemon juice if desired.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving if using.
- Serve immediately and enjoy this comforting, flavorful dish.
