Ingredients
- 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
- 2 cups broccoli florets
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup beef broth or water
- 1 tsp sesame oil (optional)
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar (optional)
- 1 tsp sugar (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine soy sauce, oyster sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Add the sliced beef and marinate for 10-15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, blanch the broccoli in boiling water for 2 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Drain and set aside.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef from the pan and set aside.
- In the same pan, add another tablespoon of oil if needed. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add the broccoli to the pan and stir-fry for another 2 minutes, allowing it to soak up the flavors.
- Return the beef to the pan. Pour in the beef broth or water, and stir to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly.
- If using, drizzle with sesame oil and rice vinegar for extra flavor. Taste and adjust with salt, pepper, or sugar as desired.
- Serve immediately over steamed rice or noodles, garnished with sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.
